Well, my name is Tim Herset.
I come from Allen and Joanne - who created Matt and Nate - and then I was the "pleasant surprise." Maybe that is too much info, too soon? Whatever.
Born in one of the most beautiful areas in the world, I have been overwhelmed by God's creation for twenty two years. Kalispell, MT has been "home" for the majority of this time and the mountains close by have been my "playground" - Skiing has taken me down more mountains than many people have the opportunity to see in real life. The adventures on my mountain bike have been almost as significant in my life as the invention of the wheel. Hiking has allowed my feet to take me places Ansel Adams would have loved to photograph. Basically, God has been gracious enough to allow me to play in His creation more than most.
Things have changed slightly. I now live in Minneapolis MN where I attend AFLBS. I will graduate in May and then transfer to Northwestern College in St. Paul. It's a pretty stereotypical path after a very atypical upbringing.
God has done some incredible things, things that have shaped me for eternity. The most incredible, selfless, mind-blowing, thoughtful, and loving thing He has done is welcome me into His arms without requiring anything to be done on my part. As a result, I spend a lot of time thinking - then thanking God.
Week after week, you can (if you choose), catch a glimpse into this Montanan's crazy little head.
This first post is late. I had an interesting waffle making experience/adventure this morning. I won't talk about that, but if you want to know email me (timherset@gmail.com).
I would love to connect with anyone and everyone who reads these thoughts that come from my heart, soul, mind, and fingers. I don't know if my fingers actually have thoughts, but you know what I'm saying. A few things to keep in mind when reading what I write - I'm a dude. I was raised in MT. God opened up this door, so I'm going to run through it. I like connecting dots. I write about some of the dots that connect and make cool pictures. God puts the dots out there and then leads the pen to connect them. God gave us coffee and I have followed His command to drink it. I am bad at sarcasm. Sarcasm doesn't come through computers very well. I like alliteration. My wisdom teeth were removed six days ago. This may have an impact on the decision that was made to have me write for this blog. I enjoy people. Smiles make me smile. I know some of the other writers (and may attempt to include inside jokes) and they may or may not admit to knowing me. I'm "hip." I am no longer "hip" because I just typed that. I have the incredible ability to ramble/write rabbit trails/make little sense. I have the incredible ability to attempt to bring all thoughts back to where I started. I like skiing. I love Jesus. I don't deserve the spot I have been given on this blog.
Things to look forward to :
Introduction.
Body.
Conclusion.
Lame jokes.
Stories.
Nostalgia.
Thoughts.
History.
Redundancy.
Tributes to ten significant men.
Until next time.
TIM
I'm hoping your crazy little thoughts will be a fun little adventure to read. I'm thinking God's going to use those thoughts He's given you to do His work. I'm looking forward to seeing how things go.
ReplyDeleteOh Tim, you make me laugh. :) I especially liked your comment on the Lord creating coffee and commanding us to drink it. :)
ReplyDeleteJesus bless you!
